Praying with Purpose with Power for Results PDF Print E-mail

Jesus prophetically declared over the temple just before he went to the cross, "my house will be a house of prayer for all nations" (Mk 11:17). I believe that this was more than an encouragement to build inter-ethnic congregations, it was a powerful prophetic declaration of what He would do in coming days - in our days. He himself will clear the temple (personally and corporately) of the clutter and defilement to make room for a Spirit of Prayer. He who began the good work will finish and mature the Church to be all that He intended.

It is the Spirit of Prayer that the Lord intends to have indwell the Church as a fire on the altar burning with passion for Canada and the nations. Day and night, 24 hour prayer is happening in our nation in an ever-increasing way. It is becoming the engine, the furnace, that is birthing unprecedented Kingdom advances and snowballing breakthroughs.

Typically for North American Christians, prayers have been measured as less than a handful of minutes daily, with many confessing that they really rarely pray at all. Yet there is now a grassroots stirring and uniting of intercession across the land that can only have been the work of the Spirit of God. In 2000 we launched the first House of Prayer in the nation, now dozens pepper the landscape with more arising all the time.

Prayer for Government is now happening regularly through many ministries and the glorious results are a dramatic, unprecedented increase of born-again Christians serving in influential governmental roles.

Telephone conference calls are becoming the new prayer rooms and are being used to connect and equip intercessors from every corner of Canada. For example, Cityscape Prayer's innovative Gadite Track mentoring program has rallied hundreds of intercessors to grow in prayer as they dial in and through teleconferences unite their hearts in intercession for revival and breakthrough in Canada.

In these days we are also seeing solemn assemblies of fasting and prayer that are gathering the younger generation to cry out to God for his hand on the nation. The Lord is indeed raising up prayer and reshaping His Church to become a House of Prayer for all nations!
