"A city on a hill cannot be hidden." That is the phrase that began to sound within my spirit and the words which became a theme of the Spirit for a very recent eight-day stretch! Over and over I heard and saw the words. The accompanying word was "hidden-ness"! We have stepped into a time when many things hidden are about to be hidden no more! Many like the flame in vs. 15 have been "under a cover"... not to quench the flame but to protect it from all contrary winds until it was strong enough to be brought forth! The "uncovering" will not put that flame at risk, but rather it will begin to bring light to the "whole house". The Lord has much more than just personal promotion in mind: He is at work to bring light to the "whole house"! The ultimate purpose in all of this shift is found in vs. 16: from the "seen" will come praise to the Father!

Hidden-ness is not the same as hiding! Just ask Gideon! When you read his story (Judges 6) you see many who have gone into hiding because of the presence of the enemy. Not Gideon. He's not a in self-protecting mode in a far-off cave; Gideon is in a winepress hiding his harvest. His actions attracted the Presence of the Lord who called Him out of hidden-ness and into the limelight of victory for an entire nation! What attracted the Lord to him? From that winepress sounds the determined declaration: "...you might lose your share of the harvest, but I'm not losing mine!" Even before the Lord appears to him bringing transformation and release, Gideon has already aligned himself with the heart of God! He is not forfeiting the potential harvest of his day to the enemy! Good thing, because the Lord is about to use him to remove the enemy and release the harvest!

The accompanying phrase of "hidden-ness" was highlighted in a word that was released to a friend in the course of the recent 8 days: "You have been invisible. Now you will be made visible. When the invisible becomes visible, hide in the Invisible!" Gideon understands that! Before he puts the trumpet to his mouth and is used to summon an army (that's very visible!!!!), the scripture says "The Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon with Himself..." (Judges 6:34 Amplified). In the amazing ways of the Lord, Gideon who is no-longer "invisible" is protected and empowered by the very Presence of His God! That same protection and empowerment is available to us as we are "hidden no more"! Don't draw back! Do not be embittered by the waiting in the hidden place! Do not presumptuously rush out before the Lord removes the cover! Do not wrongly assume that the authority that He will grant is of yourself! We've stepped into a season when that which is "hidden" will be hidden no more! Release of the harvest and light for the whole house is at stake! By His grace and for His glory, we'll get it right!
