Oh, yes, there are secrets of the season! That is exactly how the Lord works. Before He reveals or manifests His full purpose of the season, He finds those with whom He can intimately reveal the matters of His heart! It was that way in Nazareth, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem! The grand drama of heaven was about to unfold. Hundreds of years before He had prophetically whispered His secrets to Isaiah (9:7) and to Micah (5:2). As the time drew closer, heaven's messenger, Gabriel, was dispatched to "share the secrets" of the approaching season with Zecharias. Then, off to Nazareth went the messenger to share the secrets with Mary...She was instructed that Elizabeth was also now pregnant with the plan of God. When they met, the baby within Elizabeth leaped and the "secrets" were celebrated by these two women! No competition here; rather confirming celebration becomes the song! I'm sure that Mary was greatly relieved after she shared her "secret" with Joseph, that an angel via a dream validated the divine source! Before the Christ is actually revealed, the "secret" will also be deposited with Simeon and Anna.

Secrets of the season are part of the ways of God upon the earth. Before anything manifests on earth, it is, of course, known in heaven. And, the Lord has chosen as part of His plan to tell someone on the earth what heaven is about to release! On that hillside outside Bethlehem suddenly glory explodes to announce to the watching shepherds that glory has now arrived into a nearby manger! As the shepherds stampede to that stable to witness the glory, they find the announcement shared by heaven's host to be absolutely real: there in the manger was the very glory of God concealed in flesh! The shepherds were the first one to publicly spread the secret! Likely their visit was a huge confirmation to both Mary and Joseph! Ultimately, another major confirmation will come as they journey to Jerusalem to present this baby to the Lord. Simeon will take the baby in his arms and rejoice before His God! He has carried the secrets of God in his generation...and now his eyes behold what his heart has heard! Anna, too, becomes part of that celebration and joins the company of those who "go forth" to share the secret with others whose hearts are bent toward expectation!

If the mode of operation of heaven is to first find those with whom divine secrets can be shared, then there are many right now upon the earth who have heard these intimate communiqués and have carried the secrets and guarded the promises for this generation! The very word "secret" in Psalm 25:14 in defined in the Hebrew as "the company of persons in close deliberation ...by implication, intimate consultation..." There is a shared companionship with God and with each other which arises around the secrets of the season. This is not an elite crowd but a crowd of people chosen and humbled by the very awe and wonder of participating with heaven! This intimacy is intentionally cultivated by the Spirit so that the secrets known in heaven and revealed on earth will manifest to His glory...and His alone! As one of His promise carriers, guard the secrets of the season that He has made known to you as a sacred trust...and carry the secret full-term until heaven's plans in your life, in your family, in your region, and in your nation are manifest by the power of God! Oh the wonder that the secrets of the season are intimately made known to us!
