“When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back.
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.”
I love the voice of God and what His voice can accomplish among His people! This was wonderfully on display recently as we spoke at a four-day camp meeting. In one of the first sessions the worship leader called me forward and placed a large “stick” in my hand. He began to give a prophetic picture based on II Kings 6 where the axhead was lost into the waters but was recovered (miraculously!) when the prophet Elisha threw in the stick. The axhead floated…and was recovered. He then directed me to throw the stick into the altar area! This was a most vivid prophetic act declaring the Lord’s desire and ability to draw the “lost ones” who had formerly been active in His service back to Himself. Our hearty “amens” meant that we had connected with the prophetic message.
However, there was more! In the final session the worship leaders were releasing the declaration in song over us (from “Come Away” as sung by Jesus Culture): “…it’s never too late-He has plans for you-it’s going to be wild-it’s going to be great-it’s going to be full of Him.” Wow! And, in this amazing moment of His voice, I was drawn back to the initial prophetic act and some other details from II Kings 6. I sensed the Lord saying, “Tell my people that indeed I am drawing many “called ones” up out of where they have “sunk out of sight”. I intend to cause them to surface again. They will be drawn out miraculously by My intervention. They will be restored and be part of My “cutting edge”. As in the passage of II Kings 6 they will be integral to building a much larger ‘place of my Presence and my anointing’.” As you can imagine, that word was received with great rejoicing!
I have not been able to lay that word aside! I actually believe the Lord is indeed drawing many that have been “out of view and out of sight” and will cause them to be used dynamically in the season ahead. Perhaps you have been praying for those very “axheads” to be restored to the Lord’s construction site. And for you, those “axheads” have names and faces! These “axheads” may be your children, your former colleagues, or those that you have trained. They are not out of His view and He is stirring the expectation of their return to active service. Their redeemed and restored gifting and anointing will indeed provide that cutting edge for what He is about to do! His voice has declared it. His voice will accomplish it. “When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back. God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.”
